Finally past the first week of school! School's reasonably reasonable, with most of us missing half of the lessons for CCA try-outs. CCA try-outs are fun. You get to see the Sec1 attempting all the different stations and did I mentioned anything about the average height of the Sec 1s this year? Rather short, I figured, which is a happy thing if you-a senior, is not as tall as you want to be.
Wushu try-outs are really funny and seeing all the Sec 1s trying to do frog-jumps and duck walk is pretty amusing I admit. Getting them to jump over the bars were probably the best, except for the explaining and motivating part. I highly believe that this year's Sec 1s are extremely bonded and alike, because all of them practically asked the same questions in the same way in the same tone, and after a while I got really fed up with getting them to even try. It went something like:
"Alright, for this station you'll try to jump over the 2 wooden sticks. The 1st is really easy, but the 2nd is harder, so do your best."
"We have to jump over the 2nd stick?!"
"Yes, of course."
Why else would it be there if not for them to jump over?!"... ... I don't think I can."
"Well, try."
That's exactly why we want them to TRY, don't they know what is the meaning of the word try?"Is it humanly possible?"
"Yes."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. Everyone from Wushu here can jump over it."
"Really?"
"YES. (Sighs in exasperation) YeeWin, go jump over for them to see."
After she jumps...
"See, it is humanly possible."
"What if I cannot jump over it?"
"The stick will just roll away."
What else? "Oh okay. Erm, can someone go first?"
And they start to push other classmates to the front and 5 whole minutes was wasted just to get them to start jumping. I don't really see what's so freaky with the second pole, it's height is sort of at my waist. No, I think it's below my waist, and considering my height, my waist isn't that high up anyway. And I highly suspect that the hurdles at the track are also about this height, if not higher, cause I remember failing to jump over the hurdles but was able to jump over this.
Enough of the wushu try-outs, school work is unreasonably unreasonable. A lot of random assignments due on Friday, and the following week too, and they (the school and teachers) are giving us all sorts of pressure like 'this is a critical year, so you must do your best', 'you're the oldest now so you must set good examples'.
And I have to get my hands on a fresh KIDNEY! Okay, this sounds morbid. Well, it doesn't have to be a human's, a cow, sheep, pig, chicken or whatever animal's kidney will do just fine. And no, I'm not going to do anything weird with it, but I just need to take a picture with my nametag beside it. For a bonus 2 marks for biology. Weird? Ask my biology teacher, as she was the one to come up with such an idea.
Now I've got more assignments behind me. Gosh, who said Sec 4 was an easy year for IP students?
